is there ever gonna be a portal 3

id love to ask valve about it a portal 3 was being made that would be awsome espesially if those apperently fake trailers are actually true anyone else think so besides no one ever plays the portal series anymore because its so old a new portal would really spice things up

i think that portal 3 should be a level editor where you are glados and you get to customise everything for atlas and p-body and then play both multiplayer and single player as the bots

Nope. Valve appears to be transitioning away from games in general. The next thing I would expect ffom them gamewise would be a core engine update in one of their 3 big games, which DOTA 2 is already using Source 2, and a new CS:GO, TF2, or DOTA, and not until those stop bringing in cash through the market.

And really. We don't honestly need a third portal game. The story was wrapped up nicely at the end of 2. Let it remain great, and stop trying to sequel it out until it is reviled. The better the game, the less sequels it need.

I think TF2 will not get a Source 2 port, as porting to S2 will kill rocket/sticky jumping and surfing as it uses reality physics, not TF2-ish physics

Nah, it'd be kind of hard to continue it.

Think about it, Chell is outside, and Portal takes place in the Half Life universe.

So that'd mean that it wouldn't make sense if you DIDN'T have the Combine or the HL zombies/headcrabs.

So then you'd have to deal with them, but... then it would just be Half Life but with a portal gun and regenerative health (assuming that you are to ever get a portal gun up there... somehow).

Really, Chell would die if her story ever continued.

Just play Thinking With Time Machine if you really want something to continue it afterward.

The game is very hard to continue. Who would you play as? Honestly the only way they can do another game, is if it was to be a prequel. Either way, for me it would feel like they are milking the franchise.
