Double Fine are at it again ....

It’s being called a scam because it’s by Tim Schafer, your local scam artist. People have made very lengthy posts about this already, so I’ll give you the short version:

- Timmy has a history of going over budget and over time with his projects, and delivering a subpar product at the end. Brutal Legend, for example.

- His last kickstarter, Broken Age (a point and click adventure), was over funded by over 8x (he asked for 400,000 and got 3.3 million), yet Timmy still somehow ran out of money to finish the game. He then released half the game as early access in order to fund the second part of the game, which would be released separately (hence the joke “Double Fine means you pay twice”).

- In between then and now, an employee of Double Fine creates “Fig”, which is a clone of Kickstarter specifically for video games. Timmy is on the board of advisors.

- Psychonauts 2’s campaign is now up on Fig, and he’s asking for 3.3 million (the same amount of money he couldn’t make a point and click game with). And, being on Fig, he has no one to answer to when it comes to the responsibility of delivering a product. He also mentioned but did not specify on an indeterminate amount of “ external funding” from a publisher or something, so there’s that too.

- In the first couple of days of the campaign he already extended the deadline by five days.

And to think I supported Spacebase DF-9 back then. I thought the game would have wen't far and then I see that it didn't (I'm a huge pessimist but I figured this one would be an exception, ♥♥♥♥ me right? Just another example of why it pays to be a pessimist).

Dear Cheerleader , I would have posted more about this in a DF forum but the dev's themselves saw fit to ban me from expressing my opinion on a game I bought , so I came here . Perhaps if you took your lips off Tim's ass we can actually address what I posted , but you fanboys hate to discuss reality .
