Tattoos - pro et contra

Personally, I think body ink is mostly out of place on most people, however, there are examples where they are essentially art.

I prefer to keep a tattoo-less body myself, but if I did get one it would have to be something meaningful, something I may hold close or identify with.

So for me, if I did tattoo something on myself, it would maybe be some Chaos star or some raven wings or Death's head (no, not *that* one) or some such, but I'm not in a hurry and it would be a more personal affair, not something I would like to showcase to just *everyone*.

Random tattoos without any consistency don't look good at all, but as I said, there are examples where the tattoos become an art.

Tattoos aren't for me but I don't judge people with body art. To each their own, I say.

(Although I've been known to snicker at really old, wrinkly folks with great big elaborate tats in locations that aren't at ALL flattering, 🤣🤣🤣)

I once worked with someone who had a tattoo of a forklift on their shin. That said, I’m inclined to agree that random ink blots about the body are unattractive.

I’ve been saving up some money to get a tattoo of a bramble vine going around my left arm (high enough to be obscured by a short-sleeved shirt), and I was going to have portions of the ashes of my relatives and pets made into ink, so that they can be each of the thorns on my vine.

I have seen some very high quality tattoos, and some very low quality ones as well.

I currently have none, but if I did get one, it would have to be something personally meaningful, and of very high quality.

Tend to agree that the random inconsistent stuff is unappealing.

I would not judge and think less of any person that has tattoos. I think some of the designs are very cool but it is not for me.

A lot of people get tattoos about something, like a girlfriend or a gang, but one day those people and things will no longer be part of their life and have to get the tattoo covered or lasered off.

Whatever is meant by meaningful, it has to be something you know won't go away and will be with you your entire life. for example:

i'd have the word "idiot" tattooed on my upper back if i wanted, because i've always been called one and when someone calls me stupid i refer them to idiot instead and sort of have a smile on my face when i do.

Those people who use that word try insulting me with it, but instead i love it as a compliment, it validates my existence which ordinarily doesn't happen. Some now call me an idiot not as an insult but as a term of affection because they realise it has no effect on me and i'm used to it.

So that's something meaningful and will never go away and something i know will always be apart of me, even after death.

But all of them have meaning. They're not random ♥♥♥♥ based around a spur of the moment.

I don't like body art and anything non natural. But i can like the persons wearing them. It's just that it isn't my cup of cake.

I appreciate good body art. Except on neck and faces which makes the person look like an M-13 member.

Also, anyone with tattoos look ridiculous when they reach their senior years.

I think tattoos are only worn by prostitutes, sailors, and prison inmates.
Smart people do not have tattoos.

Remembering dead relatives, getting a wedding ring tattoo, children’s names...these are about the only tattoos I find acceptable. The rest I think are a waste of time and money.

Tattoos used to be cool when they were taboo and rare...now when your aunts, uncles, and grandparents have them? Not so cool anymore.
