That's nice that you've embraced your myopia rather than scorned it.
I get pretty used to having a bad eyesight. It doesn't bother me, I can even read when I don't wear my glasses or contacts. I only have to keep the book a few centimetres from my eyes.
Myopia is short-sightedness. For most people, they are born with eyes larger than normal, or one eye is slightly flatter than the other due to sleeping on it for years as a child. So long the eyes aren't continuously degrading and stable for a couple of years at least... Lasik tends to even both eyes out, correcting this issue. You end up with 20/20 vision, which in comparison is much better and your eyes will degrade as normal wheither you had it done or not.
The real fact is glasses actually degrades the eyes quicker, by making them more lazy.
