Sweet Potato pie vs Pumpkin pie?

Honestly idk why i'm starting this. Since it's Thanksgiving i thought about it, and apparently there's some controversy around it. What's better, or rather what do you prefer, and what do the people around you prefer? Sweet potato pie, or Pumpkin pie?

Alton Brown on Cutthroat kitchen says he's from the south and they vastly prefer sweet potato. Personally I like sweet potato more, and my whole family is the same. wbu?
