I have never played any Metal Gear game, I don't like the genre, but I know that if you play Metal Gear for the GameCube ands you have already played Eternal Darkness (on the same memory card of course) that boss who read your mind tell you that you have played Eternal Darkness.

Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire and even Manhunt are all connected together. But thats typical with Rockstar Games.

Kane & Lynch and Hitman are both in the same universe. You hear news about them in the newspaper etc.

I don't think an easter egg can be considered a legit validation for connected universes. Otherwise a lot of random games are intertwined due to the ballon from IT and the Dark Souls bonfires.

Digimon was ahead when it was in pocket format, the reason why called pokémon is because it was pocket-monsters and any implementations of new evolutions were already part of Digimon, they copycat it straight over.
