Spy vs. Spy
Remember the amazing local multiplayer game for the original Xbox, "Spy vs. Spy"? The one where you could play locally (split-screen) with up to 4 players. The Black, white, blue, and red spys. You all would choose a map, and when the game started, you would all start off in your own little bases, where you could buy new guns, and masks and hats.
If you weren't the first one to come out of your base, you would probably find footprints of someone else, or multiple people, You could follow them into the traps that they probably set, or find somewhere that nobody has gone before, get money, and set your own traps. Then you would be able to go back to your base, and buy more stuff, then kill the other players.
That used to be one of my favorite games when I was little kid. How cool would it be if that game had a remake?! Better graphics, better gameplay, more stuff, better controls, better animations, same maps, new maps, even more maps, and made for all consoles and PC!!!

No. I remember the fun gameplay I experienced on Spy vs Spy on the NES, when I was young and didn't realize that split screen competitive gaming was a huge waste of time since everyone sees everything you are doing!

I am glad you enjoyed it though.
Split-screen may be a way to cheat your way against other players, but it really bonds you with friends and family members, rather than talking to someone over a mic, or not even talking to them at all. They both have pros and cons, but between the pros and cons, split-screen is definitely way more worth it.
the 'spy vs spy' i remembered is a feature on mad magazine.
It is a feature on Mad magazine, but it was also a 2d game on NES, 3d on original Xbox, and part of the Mad show.
