google chrome crashing pc

Ive looked all over the web but i cannot find a solution to my problem so i came here, for some reason when i open 3-7 tabs on google chrome, my pc will restart with the error irql not less or equal, but if i am playing a game with 2 or more tabs open it will also crash, this problem came out of no where since i was capable of opening alot of tabs months ago, any idea of whats going on? This problem does not occur with windows explorer or fire fox. Im currently using windows 8.1

The "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" bug check (Blue Screen of Death) indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory at a process IRQL that was too high.

- Either bad/damaged RAM (memory).
or
- A virus (or scanner) attempt to access an area of memory which doesn't exist.
or
- A device driver attempting to access an improper memory address.

Check for rootkit malware

Download and run TDSSKiller from the offical Kaspersky website:

Consider using Spybot - Search & Destroy 2 (free version / manual scan):

It's quite good at detecting malware, rootkits and web browser hi-jackers. Apply it's immunization to your web browser and it will also offer an extra layer of protection from malware on malicous websites and rouge ads.

Disable Google Chrome Plugins

On your computer, open Chrome. In the address bar at the top, type chrome://plugins/ and press Enter. Select the plugins and disable them.

Go back and double check. Even disable Flash, etc. Then if it's resolved, only reinstall the plugins you use cleanly via the offical websites, grabbing the latest version.

Check your RAM

This would affect more than just the web-browser. Can happen at random times, even during boot up. It might of crashed out during the scanning above, etc. It occurs whenever that damaged area of memory is being accessed.

Start > Control Panel. In the search box, type Memory, and then click Diagnose your computer's memory problems. You might be prompted for admin login, click okay. Then reboot, and the system will scan your memory (this might take a while).

If your RAM is damaged, remove the damaged stick (or both) and replace it with one of matching specs (match MHz / CL timing / Voltage of the others - if not replacing the lot).

Reinstall your security software

If the above all failed. Clean re-install the virus scanner or any other monitoring protection software.

Heres a question, i did obtain a new virus program malwarebytes, and it did dectect 3 viruses and they were deleted, if new viruses appear on the scan, what should i do?

Reboot into safemode (Normally F8 upon booting to get menu) with networking.

Download Spybot then and fully update it. Just use it as a manual run application (not replacing your actual anti-virus or being used for real-time scanning). It's quite similar to malwarebytes (which is also excellent to use), but specializes more in browser hi-jacks.

Run a full scan and/or rootkit scan. Wait till it's complete, view results and clean all (it will even detect minor privacy issues so check the threat levels beside them).

Once complete run the Immunization tool as well. That will help protect the web-browser by blocking known malware and adware servers.

Open Chrome's menu and select Settings. Perform a search for “reset browser” and you'll see the Reset browser settings button. This will reset it back to default settings (note you will lost your manual setup and need to redo it if you customised).

The other option could be uninstalling the web-browser completely. Then redownloading it.

This scan found nothing so it may be the damaged ram
