Mmmmmm... Popcorn Chiiiiiiiickeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen...
I forgot this was an option.
Touchè
Far and away.
Mmmmmmmm............
Based on popularity by request:
Wings: Usually as a side but not in the meal
Keel/Breast: Most requested piece but also a "premium" piece since it is the ONLY part of the chicken there is only 1 of, leading to there being half the amount available.
Drumstick: Most popular with kids, but holds it's own with middle age men as well, falls off in teens and women for some strange reason.
Thigh: This is the chicken fanatics goto piece, there is always availability due to dark meat being "cheaper" to aquire. It has nearly the exact same flavour as a wing but much more meat on it. The only people who complain about it are the ones who don't like "dark meat".
Rib: The least requested piece, probably because they are annoying to eat. In my experience most of the people who request it do so because they don't want "dark meat".
The classic sides:
Popcorn Chicken: By far the most popular, the hilarious thing is people who decry "dark meat" but then order it as it's all processed dark meat.
Hot Wings: Ties into the popularity of wings but which a bit of kick.
Strips/Big Crunch: These are essentially the same breading wise and are both non-processed white meat. Also probably one of the healthier things to order.
Classic/Nuggests: Processed white meat but much less popular after the introduction of the big crunch.
Chicken Fries/(now discontinued? dark meat version of the classic): Dark meat version of the nuggets and classic, I believe they discontinued the burger altogether, at least here in Canada, chicken fries vary in popularity, depending on promotions going at the time but overall remain less popular. Also draws the most whining at the front counter when you get told you can't sub your fries for chicken fries heh.
Chicken Facts:
Listed by total fat content ration, Highest to Lowest:
Thigh (55%)
Wings (50%)
Legs (48%)
Rib (45%)
Keel (40%)
Listed by nutritional Value, Highest to lowest:
Thigh (dark meat contains more nutrients as they comes from the muscled parts of the bird that actually did any "work". Despite the higher fat total it' actually lower in saturated fats.)
Leg
Rib
Keel (The keel, while having the most "meat" is actually the second highest in saturated fats due to the fact that these flight muscles were NEVER used)
Wing (Obvious a flightless bird doesn't use it's wings putting the saturated fats at their peak here, but thats also why they taste so good.)
I felt that way for a long time about burgers after my stint as a Wendy's Manager.
