And yeah, that's likely a big part of why I never cared for team sports or pvp. Or fraternities. Or any of the other stereotypical trappings of bro-dude culture (like drinking, and bars.)
Plus, it always goes too far online, since you have the whole anonymity+distance thing. If you trash talk too hard in a basketball game, the other guy fouls you or punches you in the head. Online, you can just escalate and escalate.
I literally don't understand how that can be "fun".
But different people enjoy different things. The problem with multiplayer games is that you get all sorts of different people randomly interacting with others who may not feel the same way.
And no, this isn't some new "leftist" thing. Think back to "rude" comics like Andrew Dice Clay. Some people thought he was hilarious. Other people thought he was a sexist prick who should be shot into the sun.
