Coworkers are a particular type of friend. You can't trust them with everything and they aren't like your childhood friends, but they are worthy friends in their own right.

As long as you know how to keep your distance and treat them as friends who're not so close to you, then it should be possible to befriend them and eventually call them friends instead of coworkers.

I get along with everyone at work, but I don't go to pubs with them afterwards. The minute you mix work and social, things can get really uncomfortable if there are problems.

not for the employers though, employees are more efficient when they have a friendly relationship with one another. if you're busy arguing with one another then you're not workin' at 120% efficiency
