When one learns to type, it becomes important feedback and doing what you gotta do should sound like "whadda bap bap bap bap..."
Many that don't like it are hunt-and-packers. That's the hidden part. They can't type.
To survive in the modern world, one should type at a minimum of 40WPM. Once one gets good at it, one could easily double that.
It does get annoying, well, was at first when I got it, but, tbh, I'm a trained musician, so I can literally just tune out the sound, which I often do. It's just white noise background to me.
I have to have some kind of a mechanical keyboard though, is the thing.
Because 17 years of bass guitar, made my fingers a little too strong for og membrane types of keyboards. Result is that I'd accidentally jam keys or pop them out by striking harder than I realized I was when typing.
While the feature for an "extra button" that's available in the (brown? I think? correct me if I'm wrong) is a nice feature, someone with my finger strength, is just probably never going to be able to pull that off.
Hell, one year I went to see my parents for Thanksgiving.
I was cutting the turkey with brand new kitchen shears.
I clipped part of my finger with the shears because I was admittedly kinda drunk when doing this and the shears bent AROUND my fingers callouses and broke.
My finger was totally fine. I had to get new shears on the fly though.
But yeah, true story, that really did in fact happen to me.
They're kind of like Browns but feel better IMO.
Blues are really nice too but they are loud. I don't think they get annoying, but if you have roommates or coworkers listening to them they'll probably get pretty annoyed by them.
Never tried reds, but I know "Silent Reds" are one of the most quiet switches.
I personally, want to customize into green switches. Basically, blue, but stiffer. I like my keys stiff and loud for warp speed typing.
I guess it's whatever is in your taste, I assume they also feel a little different as well.
