There were very small single-shot derringer pistols. It wouldn't surprise me if derringer made a double barrel.
I just looked and Remington made one.

People who were in Kosovo, during the event.
Also people who want to act like they were.
Popular gun, in certain specific scenarios.
Also 50ae vs 510 is the difference between full frontal penetration, in an event.
I heard Derringer was putting the handgun market out of market, because people never shot the guns and only needed one or two shots on hand anyway. So they bought one and either stopped carrying it, or having an accidental discharge or hearing about one and just forgetting about it.
So a conglomerate of firearms interests bought out the rights and handed it to remington, who did what they were known to do with guns at the time. File down the manufacturing costs. cheaper parts. cheaper fire control systems. etc.
Supposedly only 2 incidents of accidental discharge with the original 500-1000 models of derringer were known to occur throughout their lifetimes. Many of which were daily carries, some heirlooms passed throughout generations of daily carriers.
I think Remington's estimate was about 32 in 500 per year for theirs. No doubt a conservative estimate.
A $150 handgun that is nearly indestructible.
About the only way to finish the game, since the final boss is always one hit instakill with no dodging, and only keeping him stunned long enough to retrieve the maguffins works.
If you carry a gun "ironically"... you should not be allowed anywhere near a gun.
