Guns as hobby is dismaying. These are ugly, deadly weapons. They are utilitarian killing machines, they're not for fun. And while I don't have much issue with guns as glamour in movies, all these youtube guys with their gun hobby channels, it just makes me sad.

Actually i don´t like pistols very much. The one OP mentioned is basically close to the HK P8, as this is just a modified version of it - and i can only say that this is way better than some Walther P1.

But ultimately pistols are rather bad. As guns. Imho. They´re not accurate - You need really high skill to counter that - super short range.

Machine pistols - other story. Okay range, bigger magazine, no recoil (depending on the model), still somewhat small and light weight - but of course not as easy to carry around (hide) if You go shopping, or do the burglar, or shop lifter thing.

But what if you have an elephant running towards you, what handgun would stop that? Or a bear?

If you can hit a thief with that rock, yes. Much better than missing every shot with your expensive handgun.

can you even lift a large handgun? how about a large rock it's more ergonomic.

you can do calisthenics with it, too.

Anything that's not automatic is already not in the top 10. Aside maybe Revolvers.

I'd say that a automatic pistol isn't that useful since they have small magazines, and if you want more bullets you'd have to trade off the caliber making the bullet slower.

I'd say revolvers are great, but afaik there isn't many that you can put a laser and iron sights are a bit difficult.
