how to see how many of your comments here are deleted
ok so, did you know that a lot of comments you make in forums may be deleted without you knowing? maybe a moderator delete them weeks later or more? to see this just:
go to "support", then "account", then "data related to your account"... and then scroll down in the community section and find "comments" select the discussion comments and you will se an extended version of your message cronology, it will show you deleted comments or threads... and they could be a lot more than you thought...

i'm aware of comments deleted as i regularly go through my post history as a matter of habit. Usually thread creators delete the thread before the 7th post lands on the thread.

There are a few instance of moderator intervention, the most recent was about a disgusting sexual act one user suggested and someone else asked what it was about and i stated they didn't want to know, that post was taken down and that was about a week ago now. before that? nothing for quite a while.

i have also deleted a few comments of my own, nothing recently but i've done it in the past when someone else ninja's a point or it's not relevant any more.

yeah, some comments are deleted by you, or you know the reason... but there are some that you totally didn't know...

i'm aware of all of it, the post history shows them even when deleted or hidden by a moderator.
i could cut and paste a few of those comments if an example is really needed.

however there are occasions where a moderator may get so heavy handed they can hide the comment and them permanently delete it, they have that ability. However most moderators would rather err on the side of caution and keep the evidence hidden than deleted.

honestly not a lot of my stuff is deleted, although some of it is weird.
Idk, I somehow haven't gotten banned in the last 6 months either.

This happens alot to me... in the game modding forums. The author of the game mod does not agree with my comment and deletes it faster than ♥♥♥♥♥♥ through a goose.

This is my first warning for spamming when actually it was other people spamming and I put it in a way that I found was humerous and not aggressive unlike what others were doing.
Let us begin...

Steam Forums :

Userqwerty 'Oh goody I get to ask a question about windows 7 ' skips to the forums with a happy face.

UserSmellyFacedGitalike 'THESE ARE MY FORUMS ROOOOARR!!! STOP POSTING I DONT LIKE IT!!!!' Proceeds to sit in a smelly chair banging at the keyboard in case he misses somebody asking a question on the forums while he has neglected to wash and use the latrine.

Userqwerty 'please answer my question i just want to be friends' :'(

Repeat this for 20 pages at a time.

Sometimes I sigh at all the anger in the world
- Attributed to HobbitXIII the benevolent one.

Where does all the evil come from in the world?
-A soldier in the Thin Red Line.

/end of the copied post.

So people if people are angry on the forums do not make light of it because it is spamming.

I didn't know how to look at deleted posts, so thanks for that. If stuff gets deleted, it gets deleted. But I sometimes delete my posts if I feel I might of overshared.

There are two levels of "deletion" for Steam comments:

There's unindexed comments, which is what happens when you or a moderator remove (aka "delete") a comment from view on a forum. These are the ones you can still see in your Post History.

Then there's completely deleted comments. Only moderators can completely delete a post from the server. These posts are no longer available in any form within Steam.

WTF?
you can also find them by just going to your activity feed and clicking "my comment history" on the right side of the page

I've noticed mods can delete posts in a way that they don't show up there though

I think the mods are getting more beautiful, i got a warning instead of a ban and that makes a lot of difference
