"I know y'all vidya game folks've been talking about games in this thread, but look at these handful of people posting about DEI on the forums. You're totally being manipulated here by propaganda networks. Don't believe me? Why? My favorite "gaming" outlet and news outlet that specifically get paid to tout my opinions back to me told me so, and so did my favorite "gaming" forum and subreddit."
The "y'all" and "folks" is a nice touch that most wont appreciate, but I do. :steamhappy:

TBH the fact that it took this long is a pathetic reflection on what gamers will tolerate.

It's no victory, it's a half assed fizzle. Ya'll shoulda stopped buying Ubisoft games long long long before this.

I stopped buying that slop damn near a decade ago. Haven't touched Ubisoft since Brotherhood, haven't touched Blizzard since Diablo 3, haven't touched Activision since the original Modern Warfare 2, haven't touched EA since Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Clap if you want but taking 10+ years to catch on is like giving a dog a pat on the head for finally not eating it's own turd.

Congrats, ya'll finally figured out the obvious.

Congrats, you missed out on a ton of great games. GG.

Dragon Age Inquisition was the best in the series lol.
As in the generic yearly copy & paste Call of Duty games? Or the 25 U$D horse armor shenaningans? What about Ubi$oft NFT's stuff they attempted to put across their games? Etc :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Seems as though one comment triggered quite a reaction here.
Words of wisdom have told me that if something triggers a strong reaction in people, then there's likely some meaning to it.

But anyway, feel free to continue the discussion where you let off. I can be ignored.

I just noticed I have 3 non AAA games from Ubisoft.
Who is going to support TrackMania when the company falls?
(the other two are Brawhalla and FarCry 3 Blood Dragon)
Tencent possibly.
They already put money on the company, might as well buy it up entirely.

Or maybe Microsoft.
I think the French govt might bailout Ubisoft, or they might go private under Tencent as in being downsized to an AA studio. :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

I hope EA and Microsoft fall faster and harder.

Maybe EA will, but Microsoft makes tiny portion of its revenue out of video games. Some place it at 2nd most valuable company in the world. Even without their OS (Windows), they are defense contractor making software and hardware in that area. The US is likely to collapse before Microsoft does. If the US collapses, maybe we will see Microsoft follow also.
Microsoft may also have lucrative future in vaccine software.

they do get a lot of franchises and i think its always useful to care about stuff, like some devs like epic do still try, its just at some point we dont see them perform if they get bailed out for obvious failures and then continue with that behavior. some get bought out, for example any game can be made good with outsourcing the poor performing devs or save a franchise. i like them combine stuff that works with games, id and epic games just copy succcesful franchises and games and do stuff that works they keep. for example splinter cell can be combined with more action oriented stuff that indies do. its always nice if the game has some humour in it like gta and makies fun of themselves fom time to time. they fail at really making huge effor in stuff like models and textures but than fail at basic gamplay which is what makes games fun. so playtesting is key because otherwise they just pay off game review sites and ad marketing and they never get to fix their games before release.
