These are more appropriately called "PK'ers" (Player Killers) or "TK'ers," (<same> Team Killers).
Most appropriately, they're called "jerks" in games that make the assumption players are either not supposed to kill each other's characters or not supposed to try to kill the characters of same-team members.
If the game is "PVP" (Player versus player) than any intended target that is considered valid by the game is... valid, including any other players that fit in that category.
roleplayers and KOS-players in teh same game in a nutshell lmao -> https://youtu.be/gb1w-TceHpo?t=92
If it's a pvp game with survival mechanics where you need to kill everyone to win then it's fair.
If it's a survival game where you can survive on your own but with pvp aspect then I don't really see the point of KOS and KOSers are just lifeless tryhards to me.
Although I found servers for some survival games that didn't spawn kos. It was still terrifying to gather stuff, and that was fun
But when it was all kos then it was kind of annoying. I'd like to play with a clan on a server but then trying to do distraction stuff lone wolf style for them to raid
That's how I usually play multiplayer survival games. I run distract for groups
I appreciate KOSers more than the players who establish NAP (Non-Aggression Pact) in every server of every game in the genre. NAPpers want to be KOSers, too ethical for MTX, but know they wouldn't stand a chance against regular players. They're even more dishonest than the KOSers, because NAP alliances can attack any non-NAP alliance at any time with zero restrictions on power differences.
It's a war game, not "Barbie's Magical Garden Brunch Party". If Warhammer's taught me anything, it's that the conquest of the universe doesn't happen through pacifism.
that sounds like an excuse the shadowbane pk guilds kept saying.
basically they were mad that a rival power was replacing them, and that it didn't have the 'we're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥' facemask on it so they didn't feel comfortable joining up.
plus they couldn't raid and attack eachother and ignore the idea of political will as effectively. uniting their bands of idiots, stimmers, and t-heads against an outside force (NAPs) allowed them to manufacture an internal political will among sociopaths...
kind of like fascists irl, who want games to resemble their worldview.
