Did my PSU die?
I was playing darktide and my computer randomly shut down without warning, all my LED lights won’t turn back on, when I hit the power button my computer does nothing it only makes a clicking sound when I press the power button. I checked my motherboard it looks like it’s in great condition, I reseated ram and tested each individual ram stick, other components were treated the same. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. My computer is dead silent and wont turn on no matter what I do. Edit: PSU officially dead capacitors have white goo coming out of them some of them are slightly bursted too. I really wish I checked on my psu sooner. Hoping my pc will work after installing a new psu. Hopefully my faulty psu didn’t take anything else with it on its way out. Please god.

I ordered a new psu right now but would suck if it turned out not to be the psu.
I would recommend you to call computer repair specialist because issue can be anything
could be the motherboard, try that next if the new PSU doesn't resolve it.

Could be hard drive dies if every component still runs fine. Like fans still spinning or other lights and noise still be heard

No, it would still post. Complete power failure is either PSU or MB.
I’m hoping it’s a psu problem, I hope to god it’s psu
You can test your current (possibly faulty) PSU by overriding/bypassing the motherboard cable(24-Pin ATX) with a "Jumper Bridge" (or a 'U' shape metal wire) to the "PS_ON / 16" pin with the "COM" or "GROUND" pin, just to see if that PSU still works all alone.
Make sure the PSU is not connected to any device when testing.

Just google/online search "pc power supply jumper bridge".... & "pinout 24 pin atx bypass switch".

Also, when you get the new PSU, disconnect everything else that doesn't require it to post.
Only run the new PSU with the motherboard (ram, video card, k&m) and of course monitor.
If it boots and shows BIOS on screen, you know that those components are good..
Then power it down and connect all the other devices; hard drives, etc..

Good Luck! :steamhappy:

Also no fans are spinning at all in the entire pc not even the psu fan goes off, I’m using phone to write this.

ya, hopefully it's only a PSU issue.

I actually had a mobo fail, and thought at first that it was my PSU, because the entire PC & the PSU didn't do anything.
So I tested the PSU alone with a Jumper Bridge and it started up, then I put the PSU on a different PC and it worked. I figured out later that the motherboard was the one that took a dump(must have shorted out somewhere somehow), fortunately all the other components survived.

PC problems stink! :steamfacepalm:

one time I had an hdd fail in such a way that it overvolted the mb. couldn't pass the local safety check so it didn't even try to post. would turn on for half a second then right back off. removing the drive fixed everything.

figured it out after i'd ordered a new psu and was disassembling the old one to look for the short.

Looool I needed that laugh especially for this next question I’m gonna ask. Will my pc be fine what are the chances that my busted psu could fry my other components? This really does suck
