Why Loud Cars?

Can someone explain to me the point of loud cars & trucks?

I seen some with big mufflers in the back of a truck

Some are street race cars making grunting noises as they take off at red light

is this sound soothing to them as well as to annoy us?

Just purely curious

Errrr just an FYI, a big muffler would generally mean they are not as loud.

My car has a performance exhaust because I love farting in people's general direction, especially as I'm speeding away from them.

They want to compete with semi trucks and trains. I even saw a semi truck trying to be loud like a train with a train horn speeding though a thunder storm. I looked it up after and it's actually an aftermarket part for semi trucks.

truck engine are big, so is harder

for car if it is car with very strong engine it is also hard to hide their noise

and bike is impossible they are too small to install anti noise
