I've wanted to turn it off for so many years because its just dumb to stress out over an online argument because your brain thinks its a danger. Or get stressed over a video game or movie, because your brain believes it may be a threat,
Turn it into Fight or Fight response
Square tf up
but, the human body tends to act on a unified chain of command. having to eat is more important than seeing some gore, so if you're a med student going to a dissection consider bringing some food. that way you can short-cut the priority of what you're experiencing with something more pleasant.
however, some people's chain of commands are different from eachothers. some people might find gore has a higher priority for them than the food does. some people might need to hold a sexy picture in their hand to get past a dissection. this may cause them to sexualize gore, as a fantasy, or it may not.

Find the level of exposure that is uncomfortable but bearable and go hang out there.
Making big goals just sets yourself up for failure, take baby steps and allow yourself to feel success when you go past your comfort zone. Reward yourself as you improve. The dopamine release is part of the conditioning process.
Avoid caffeine like the plague.
Some people have luck with beta blockers as it interrupts the feedback loop and physicians are much more comfortable with those than benzos.
That's not even needed, if you can disassociate with the world. That's something of a skill, and one that you can't always control.
So, to shut it down, just be stressed all of the time.
So consciousness might be = to fight or flight in importance.
So of course you can't kill something thats the same tier as you.
Haven't had much of a problem since.
It's mind over matter; if you don't mind, it don't matter.
