I think sony is forcing this mandatory psn account on us to make their own launcher at some point

Like, it seems silly they do the whole trophy interface and all that unless they want people to go to their platform. Now Sony's plan was "well we want them to buy a ps5 to play the sequel" but that seems silly when they release the live service game at the same time.

I think they're preparing to force everyone to download the playstation launcher. Think about it. You already made the psn account to play ragnarok. You just use the same login on the playstation launcher. At that point the games wouldn't be released on steam anymore just the launcher.

I also doubt at that point it would just be playstation games. They could earn pc money getting sales from pc gamers too creating a UWP for releasing games on PC and playstation. If they take a page out of microsoft's book that is.

So some things I thought I should mention.

Sony will also get a reality check on the GTA 6 when a lot of people DO buy a console just to play GTA, but probably not the amount they were expecting. It will probably be people already on a console, some PC users sure but not the amount they expect.

Second, altough I won't buy any playstation games that require a psn account, I like the idea of this. Steam needs competition, the more competition the more gamers win. This could also be the thing that finally reduces the steam cut (more than it was already reduced, because steam did reduce it) because Epic kinda failed on that. Maybe they could even fix their steam community moderators issue.

The one thing is... if a playstation gamer buys a game on playstation, can they play it on PC? Knowing Sony, I doubt it. They sure want to convert PC players to playstation, just not playstation players to PC.

I entered that recent class-action lawsuit against Sony and got a nice $300 payout - the reason for the class-action was the security breach on PSN-Sony.

Just because it isn't as successful as the PS4 doesn't mean it's a flop. And the numbers are still big.

Also you release a game on the PS4 the PS5 users can buy it. I wouldn't call it a "flop".

They often sell console under price to make profit from games and service. But as they couldn't sell enough PS5 consoles as expected, they changed their mind and ported some games to PC to recover the loss from PS5.

And, you shouldn't be surprised at PS5 Pro's price though. The console is much higher when comparing to PS5, because SONY want players pay the whole production cost instead of a part like before.

As PS5 sales didn't go as THEY excepted, it fairly can be called flop.

Having or making an account is no problem. If you use a computer, you also make an account.
The question is: Do you have to make a connection online to use the software AFTER you made the account?

That's what you need to figure out.

I guess there are a lot of religions can't access to psn website to create an account, that's why people are complaining about psn.
