I honestly think some people just forget that they're driving.

Causing that train to hit the brakes is going to cost the PepsiCo Distribute that owns that van a few hundred thousand dollars. Every wheel on that train now has a flat spot on it and will have to be removed and replaced.

It looks like the driver didn't see the arm/lights until far too late to stop. Probably distracted by phone or paperwork or who knows.

But from there, the thought process actually kinda makes sense. You can see the driver try to go in reverse to get off the tracks, which seems like a pretty natural thing to do (or just go on through), but the arm catches on the van somewhere (maybe the mirror?) and it can't back up any more. I think at this point it was pretty safely clear of the tracks, but it's harder to judge these things from the driver's seat than from the angle we see it from. So, unable to back off of the tracks, the driver changes gears and goes on through.

Are vans really that slow though? You would think the driver would be flooring it, but the van seems to casually stroll forward.
