Seriously though, I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the Geoff Keighley awards, since that's all rigged anyway to go out to Sony or his shower buddies.
If you mean a legit fan vote, Wukong pretty much has that wrapped up by default. Helldivers 2 hype died down pretty quick and it doesn't feel like DD2 was really the banger everyone promoted it as. The only game I remotely care about is Stalker 2, so maybe that could be a huge hit.
* Dragons Dogma 2. P2W microtransctions in a singleplayer RPG. Nope
* Stalker 2. Looks meh so far. This comes from a massive STALKER fan. Several visual downgrades. Very consolized and casualized. Unreal Engine 5 also means I am worried about mods.
* God of War Ragnarök. We including 2022 games? I nominate Rollerdrome in that case.
* Wukong. I saw some gameplay. Made in the neo-Souls style where enemies hold their weapon above you and then attack in a split second. I hate those attack animations. Feels like you are playing a memory game instead of being based on skill and reaction time. I prefer the old Souls attack animations.
No game this year really impressed me. Was looking forward to Stormgate. But it flopped so hard.
Probably the smart choice. These awards go big companies with all the marketing, and that journalists whacked off to.
Notice how games like Dusk or Days Gone never get mentioned, despite having like 95% ratings on Steam, but crap like Deathloop wins game of the year. RIP Selaco, you're three months old and already forgotten.
i'd say helldivers or wukong
helldivers might have been bumped from the top spot due to anti player action by sony / devs, and that big fluff-up.
idk tho, this list is not comprehensive, i think other titles are also worth mention, and well, the gamers will speak the loudest, despite what the
'game journalists who don't even play video games' say.
Whoever has the most money will probably win. But I don't know who has more between god of war, hell divers, and dragon dogma
Also, have not played any of these games.
And nobody want that.
