They were both crap and war criminals. Doesn't mean, that this excuses what Trump is doing. How about instead of electing bad people like Bush jr, and Trump you elect people with moral integrity instead? The Republican party does indeed have such people, they just are supressed by radicals.

You have been so poisened by Trumps immorality, that you can't even comprehend, that there are people out there, who (despite some flaws) actually want to make America a better place for everyone, not only for "their side". Even on the Republican side.
But Trump is catering exlusively to the most radical elements of society, because that is the way the ultra-partisan political environment works.

People like McCain showed moral integrity by clarifiying that Obama is not a foreign born Muslim during a campaign speech that McCain gave. You are just ignoring any comparisons of Trump with other people with better character, since "Orange Man good".

Also I did not say, that ALL politicians have moral integrity, but that there are SOME that have integrity. You are falling for black and white thinking, where anything that conflicts with your cynical world-view is impossible.

There was a time before Trump, when the political opposision was not demonized and where both parties could agree to disagree in how they wanted to make America better but recognise that the other side in fact did want to make America better.
