Do you have your dad's last name?
In some cultures I don't think they do that, but in the west I think its the norm.

Names are so old fashioned and medieval and biblical. And there is always pressure to keep your name like your dad gets offended if you change your last name, both parents get offended if you change your first name. What right do they have to be offended? I think that name should just be called you childhood name, or given name. And then when people are old enough, they are expected to choose whatever name they want.
No.
My real dad ran off when i was like 5, so when i could legally change my last name, i did.
Yeah. I took it from him without remorse.

My dad was always upset my mom gave me a different last name.

And I was always unhappy because my last name was to a family that wasn't mine. So even though I had their name, they were like strangers to me, It was like being somewhere you weren't supposed to be.

And people always would be like "Oh your an x right?" and I have to be like no, I just have their last name.

My favorite color has always been dark violet. And this is just Spanish for violet.
No I don't, when my parents got divorced by mother changed all our surnames but not to her maiden name, to HER grandmother's maiden name. But when I started researching our family history I learned that my grandmother's surname was spelled totally differently, so the surname that we all have isn't connected to our family in any way. I actually hate it so much too, it's not a good surname it's one of those "I have to spell it for you to be able to say it" type surnames 🙄 But my dad's surname is so simple, so Irish, only two syllables it's perfect! I would love to change it back but I'm just too lazy to do all the things you gotta do to do that.

yes and his middle name
Where I live, you only have to write a kind of official proclamation with a signature stating your change of name. Banks might not accept though in which case you might have to change it through the court.

My mom gave me the last name of her former husband. Making things a headache for me.

Oh ew that's really not ok
I do, but I wish I didn't. I have nothing against the man or his ghost, but I just don't care for the sound of it.
I do but I gave my daughter both my and my wife's surnames. My wife's family was pleasantly surprised as they knew it was the only grand daughter in the bloodline.

But if I'm being honest, I don't really care for names, legacy and titles.
