Gentlemen, we've finally reached the Singularity and Sony has finally lost their minds. The PS5 Pro should be able to read your mind. It's almost as ridiculous as when they charged $500-600 for the PS3 launch edition.

I decided to buy a PS 2 because it came with DVD player. I bought a PS 4 and was happy to, since it could play BluRay.


Be prepared for all consoles to go "CD/DVD/BR "Drive-less."

Why? Because they want to have a completely captive audience and they want to prevent any monetary transactions going outside of their garden.

Microsoft has already discussed this approach as well and I won't be surprised when no XBox version will have CD/DVD drives, either.


And, the regards over at Wallstreetbets still try to pump money into GameStop. Without legislation to force the inclusion of other media sources for consoles, GameStop will not have any console games to sell or to exchange, return, or shuffle about, endlessly. They'll sell trinkets and bobble-heads and old felt-media "Blacklight" posters, like a sad Spencer's ™.

You actually think don't will let you do that with an unlicensed, non ain't branded blue ray? Console makers don't even let you replace the hard drive unless it's one sold by them at higher costs than the normal market.

I would pay 700 American Dollars for THAT console.

Keep in mind that's $700 on top of the $500 people already spent and will only get them through an average 7 year lifespan of the hardware for a total of $1,300 not including the additional $60/year for those 7 years of online services for an extra $420 bringing your grand total current gen PS5 experience up to $1,720. For something an $800 gaming PC in 2020 will continue to destroy ;-).

The pricing has confused the ♥♥♥♥ out of me! Just comparing it to the Dollar in value, which is weaker than the Euro and Pound in comparison shows how tone deaf the pricing is. If this is with VAT included like it said it's a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ scam for anyone in Europe buying this ♥♥♥♥.

£538 is $700 and £700 is $912.66, if this is including tax then they've jacked the price up by almost £310 in the UK from the PS5 digital. The same goes for the EU too, €636 is $700 that's a €400 increase from a PS5 digital since the price is now €800.

So in reality people in the UK are actually paying $1,056.64 and people in the EU are paying $1,035.50 for a mildly upgraded console still using a ZEN 2 CPU to actually get 60fps in games at the marketed res lmao.

The figure is with the stand and disc drive included which i'm assuming will be the same as the US prices since the console is the same, knowing those greedy bastards it will probably be twice the price though.

If we factor in a storage upgrade, two controllers and a yearly subscription to PS+ essential the price jumps from £700 to £1,082 or $1,412.12. For £200 more these console users could build a high end gaming rig or buy a decent gaming laptop.
