PS5 Pro is $700. NO DISK DRIVE.

Gentlemen, we've finally reached the Singularity and Sony has finally lost their minds. The PS5 Pro should be able to read your mind. It's almost as ridiculous as when they charged $500-600 for the PS3 launch edition.

Why would you need a disk anyways? It just works as a Key to validate that youve bought X game. You'll have to download ALL gig's anyways, just like if you bought it Digital.

But what about the people that bought their games physical tho?

Are they ♥♥♥♥♥♥? Do they need to spend EVEN more money, just to play the same games that they already bought it on physical?

At that point, stick with your PS5/PS4. Not worth upgrading to the PS5 "Pro".

Physical discs are not useless its pro consumer and a selling point. Only games like Cod needs additional downloads and its written on the box if game is not complete

A PS5 Pro not really selling also wouldn't bankrupt Sony. As it's a supplementary PS5 model on the market. PS4 Pros only made up 14% of all PS4 sales back in the day.

I imagine the PS5 pro will sell worse than the PS4 pro given the price though. It's it's just unrealistically high.

It def wont bankrupt sony lol, they are way too large and diverse. Just hoping they start taking losses and the ps5 pro doesnt live up to their sales projections so they make some change. Again, wishful thinking..

sony is a joke now. 700 for a base console with no drive, a game that is 4 years old and no stand. Why would someone pay what 700 + 90 for a drive and 30 for a stand 820 total on a slight ps upgrade. I am usually the 1st to get something day 1 but might miss it this time as I do not see the value in it.

they use blu ray to watch their blu ray movie and maybe play their old blu ray game

without blu ray drive all their blu ray disc become junk and only useless plastic

so they are in same spot than us, on pc they sell optional driver for floppy disk and dvd/blu ray

so future console going to sell their cd drive like their controller, it will become accessory and not anymore the basic stuff

People buying these consoles at retail on launch are brand loyalists, fans, scalpers, streamers, wannabe-streamers, and people with money to burn.

I'm none of these and thus don't care much about this console. I haven't owned a new console since the Xbox360

Doubt they'll make it an accessory with the PS6. Chances are that generation just won't have physical discs at all. Sony makes more money off digital purchases. If consumers need to buy an optional accessory that isn't the norm. Then that means so little of them would be buying physical goods that normal shops would probably stop selling physical copies of games for that console.
