So you are both correct in a way, but not in the way your friend is thinking upon your current hand. A pair of Aces can win against a pair of Twos.
The Ace is the highest card and the 2 card (Deuce) is the lowest. Unless your own hand flips it to an One, and for that to happen you would need a 2 card (Deuce).
2. you shouldn't be playing poker... ofc you're getting scammed regardless if it's your friend or other players at the table... (if you have to ask... you shouldn't be at the table)
