Why Gen Z is Impossible to Get Along With
Why do Gen Z struggle so much with communication? I'm part of Gen Z and, TBH, I find it way harder to vibe with my own age group. It's like, way easier to chat with GenX. Most of my squad are legit in their 50s!

Was talking about this the other day with my Xennial wife.

On our block, all of the Zoomers (we count 6 that we know of), except the ones in one particular family, are totally unapproachable and don't acknowledge anyone's existence but their own (and I guess their close friends).

My next-door neighbors, a Zoomer couple, will just walk past you and not only say nothing, but somehow avoid making any eye contact at all.

I come from a time where it was considered not only polite but a benefit to at least be on speaking terms with your neighbor (safety reasons among them, because neighbors keep an eye on your property for you), but these Zoomers don't want any of that. I just hope none of them ever need my help, because at this point they're just strangers. Actually, they're worse than that, because I have healthy exchanges (even just a glance and a smile or nod) with strangers every day.

They're totally alienating themselves. If my neighbor came to my house right now and rang the doorbell, needing help, I legit might not even recognize him or his girlfriend, and might not even let them in on that basis. And if I did recognize them and they were pleading for help, I'd probably just be frozen in shock that they even know I exist, or just weirded out that suddenly they want to acknowledge me, let alone interact with me.

Now, the Zoomers (2 of them) in the family I mentioned, are exceptional. They remind me of my own generation or older, only in the bodies of Zoomers, and I'm sure that's because their parents are just great parents. The dad and mom are very sweet and considerate, but firm. You can tell they instilled discipline and common courtesy in her kids. I say all of that because I believe their parenting might have countered the default Zoomer mindset their kids would have otherwise had.

Anyway, I'm sad for them. They'll probably proclaim in their 40s and 50s to be lonely and not realize they themselves were the cause of it. Generally speaking, the majority of them definitely don't seem to be very self-aware.

Cause I don’t want to talk about Baby Shark and Skibidi Toilet with them.
People in their 50s would be Gen X.

gen x birthed a lot of gen z. so they probably are grown up with their guidance and values. then they know how to talk with each other. same with millennials and boomers.

Type ***t.
I am also a part of Gen Z, and I can kinda agree. Maybe it was just my autism but I never really understood the societal trends. Most of the popular memes werent my thing, I didnt play any of the popular games like COD or Fortnite (still havent), and generally I was just an outsider.

I remember in both Junior and Senior Year, I took Spanish 1 and 2 since a foreign class was required for graduation, but they mixed all four grades together, Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, and god I wanted to rip the heads off any grade that was below me.

50+ Boomer
30-50 Gen X
15-30 Millenial
1-15 - Gen Z

These terms only exist so people can belittle each other and there are no actual definitions to the meanings of these terms. People just change it to whatever they feel like.
Gen Z years were born between 1997 and 2012 it says on my sauce

Yeah, this isn't even remotely correct. Gen Z was born from 1996 to 2010, meaning the oldest of us are nearing our 30s.
