Why do women hate men who play video games?

One time I was trying to annoy my ex gf into leaving me alone by playing video games. I was playing M&B Warband arena fights. One little "gamer moment" about M&B is there have been some whiners saying it's "unrealistic" to have women medieval fighters in the game, but they have them. Anyway my ex gf was not happy that the game had women characters in it because I guess it looks bad for my character to be beating women up. You can't please everyone

full distractions like games of any sorta = bad in their eyes if even 10% of their focus isn't on them.

video games and sports sorta fill in that niche not just video games exclusively. It could be anything!



in a way it's not so much sometimes why you rubberneck some beautiful lady walking down the street it's more so that you're not paying attention to them. Cause they got that in everday life from TV shows to ads videos etc. But irl if you're with them and not paying attention it really hits the ego.

men don't seem to care much or as much since they're used to people looking around being alert
while women do since they're used to being in a safe-ish areas where you could afford to be distracted and instead focusing on the people there.

It can be considered an unproductive full time hobby with some people. The women giving these opinions are generally un-involved with gaming entirely I'd think.

The second reason can be that certain game genres and their online play can be naturally more geared to harassing to women in voice chat. You play CoD and you hear a woman on the mic, thirsty men go ballistic and unhinged because they haven't spoken to a girl in months. But if you're playing something like an MMO (FF14 for example), then most people are pretty normal. Your raid group or guild is usually pretty mixed of both men and women.

Many people get addicted to playing games. And they ignore their partner. That's the problem.

There are plenty of women who play games too. And many have their own hobbies and understand "alone time". It's when gaming becomes excessive that people neglect general responsibilities that it becomes an issue.

Men are supposed to do the hard "muscle" work in life.

How can we ultimately survive from merely playing video games? ~ We can't.

A few hours a week is ok, but the way many of us waste excessive time playing games these days, lmao!! some players with thousands of hours!!! like 24/7!!! ffs.

These days, women are a huge target for propaganda. Go to just about any major game news website. They'll tell you "gamer men are evil and are waiting for you in every game".

So, a lot of women are chased away. Before they've even tried being part of the hobby or it's communities. Just because they read an article slamming gamers.

Alternately, they enter a voice chat with multiple men. In some random game. Unable to comprehend that the majority of players are male. Or that she is treated differently because she is rare. Not because she is female.

In short, women have a negative view of gamers because they are told "gamers are bad". Or they overreact to the toxic minority of players. (I mean, there's quite a lot of them. But we aren't all like that.)
