this is a pretty good post.
I can really narrow this down to like one word though to make it really simplified.
'addiction'
Thing is though. addiction isn't just a male trait/quality. Just as many women have addictions too. I'd even argue that women 'gamer' streamers make as much as men if not more nowadays or are more popular.
here is the real issue though due to current societies misandrist modern mindset.
~ Men who play games all day = losers, not men, incels, cretins, mommys boys, man children, etc..
~ Women who play games all day = boss babes, cool af, breaking glass ceilings, 'you go girl' , hot, etc.
a good starting point would be to stop all the double standard BS already.
you youngsters need to figure this stuff out asap.
Except addiction isn't the only driver causing this dynamic; it's simply one of the possible contributors. Some folks seriously lack time management skills or have an inability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities (whether due to immaturity, addiction, narcissism, etc.). And, more simply, some people just don't respect or appreciate their partner/relationship (which is a whole different discussion, but nonetheless a possible cause).
& yes, I agree that people should stop with the double standards... I felt that was clear when I said all parties "should be contributing to the household and relationship in meaningful ways... regardless of gender." 🤷
Also...
Not sure why you're mentioning the earnings of female vs male content creators... How is that relevant?
Nor am I sure why you're saying "female 'gamer' streamers" in a way that implies they aren't gamers? But maybe that's just one of those 'double standards' us 'youngsters' are perpetuating, eh? 🙄
Without attention and money gaming is not attractive to most women as it doesn't demonstrate social skill or status, and generally isn't transferable to the real world in any way.

gaming is lightweight, she knows you'll be online with the boys on friday night or out with her. its probably even a sense of security.
you should just keep trying though, you aren't going to get it right the first time man, why are you guys all expecting perfection in one go. something worth having takes a while to get it right.
cultural norm my butt dude, you watched one video and started despairing. go outside more and doomscroll less.
Chess can...suck it for having infinitely less moves and being a perfect game (having all information displayed to both players). Seems way less challenging.
But other then that I don't play much. Usually I'll fire up a game and then turn it off almost immediately due to being bored.
I mainly go through my games and try to just do weird challenges in them for replayability
and
“We need to ban these violent, mature video games from being sold to children!”
It’s wild how these two contradictory arguments somehow have co-existed for years / decades, and it seems like people never stop to question it.
Poignant.
OP, it's not the gaming.
