Probably American Exceptionalism.

Probably same reason they play baseball and American football and use Imperial size units. And temperature in Fahrenheit.
same reason american football is not world cup football :^(

especially when american football doesnt use so much their foot with the ball :^(

I can read both so your argument is invalid. And it’s not hard for someone to learn military time either. Instead of 12 and 12 it’s 24.
except it may confuse with 12 am and 12 pm you are not sure if it is noon or midnight

whats worse kids these days yes even dutch kids can't read a classic analog clock.

while in our age spotting where the arms of the clock were pointing and tell the time was tought to toddlers at preelementry school.

and we still wear annalog watches.

today kids apeatly are only used to check time on their phones..
dumb dumbs.

its just as they cannot read maps properly and are abysmal in calculating chance when paying cash.
skills we also used to learn to toddlers.

Kids today are basically walking CO2 dispensers. If the internet went completely out i swear with no joking they would just stop functioning and stare at walls. Anything you ask them anything. the first thing they say is. let me check my phone, hmmmm let me google it, IDK let me look it up.

They know actually NOTHING. They are basically an accessory for their phone.

:steambored: :sad_lif:
Don't remind me about watches! There is this really cool (yet niche) 24 hour glow in the dark watch I found on reddit awhile ago. Wish I could buy it. I'll look for it.. No need to edit this post, found it!

you've been raised from birth to believe metric is better just because it uses base 10, and you don't understand thirds as whole units anyway.

The benefits of the metric system is that it is consistent across the board with all units.

1 Kilogram: 1000 grams
1 Kilometer: 1000 meters
1 Kilojoule: 1000 joules

1 Ton: 2240 Pounds
1 Mile: 1760 yards
1 Gallon: 4 Quarts

Also we use base 10 in mathematics and daily life. So metric system is easier to apply since it is in allignment with the way we write out numbers. Customary units are always translated into base 10 when writing them. If they were consistent, Quarts to Gallons would use a base 4 notation. But it doesn't.

Wow, it's almost like a quart = quarter eh? Yeah, that would be confusing.
Hours, minutes and seconds seem to be the only thing everyone agrees on(asside from that wrinkle known as time zones).
We can't even agree on a date format between US and UK putting the day in the month spot and the month in the day spot. Imagine the horrors that would emerge if there was a metric-system based clock. Actually the Daleks may have beaten us to it... their units of time are Rels (50 rels equals one minute).
A 24 hour clock removes the ambiguity as a certain hour isn't repeated twice in a day(one in the morning, one at night. How does one get confused about this?
