Okay, great, you proved that people will just run wild with a statement (even though the statement does look really incriminating and you could have put anything else out at all other than that) but at what cost, I just don't understand what was gained for him by doing this. Feels like it would have made more sense to just immediately prove the allegations wrong or wait until you're able to before making a statement.
Now he's gone down the alt-right Rabbit Hole and those guys will defend anyone as long as they are on their side, doesnt matter if they are pedophiles or murderers, hell half of them probably are.

i've been speaking with a trial defense lawyer about this particular set of circumstances and how defendable drdisrespect would be, and the man mentioned to me that when you are dealing with false accusations you should go absolutely ballistic defending yourself - the longer you wait, the harder it becomes to win a defamation lawsuit and win back your damaged character and set the record straight.
even if he was trying to use it as bait to catch people and sue them, why wouldn't he work with his lawyer more? he wrote the dumbest thing i've ever read, and left this for so long, it just doesn't really make much sense.
the first thing you do when you're innocent and accused of being inappropriate with a minor, is launch the chatlogs into everyone's faces. since he didn't do that, he has that blurry spot, and the spergs in the chat will latch onto that and chortle about it.
another thing i really didn't appreciate is that he did this uhh.. 'pseudo ted talk' while in character. thats really tiresome. drop the act for 5 minutes and be an adult about this.
however, its really, really dumb of cody to have written what he did without proof, and for pokimane and other big ticket streamers to latch onto the fake news train - without any proof they could be facing millions in damages, and he can actually prove he was out millions, too.
they are playing a very dangerous game there, since they have more than 6 zeroes in their net worth. that's a cash cow if he's ready to show the receipts.
