I love Cyberpunk 2077 and Bioshock, any other game that warn about the dangers of unchecked capitalism?

There's a great horror movie on it that I think is on Netflix called The Platform.

Yes, I would describe the Fallout series - as a whole - as anti-capitalist, antiwar, anti-nationalist, and definitely anti-nuclear-proliferation. You could make a case that it's environmentalist, too. All of that stuff comes up in every title.

And there are probably more that could be added to this list, that I haven't thought of. There's a LOT going on in the background of Fallout. Even just any one game from the series has thousands of pages of optional lore on a vast range of topics hidden around the wasteland.
in my case, it's more or less anti-war and anti-wmd. as of anti-capitalist part, that came later when the show showcases that. i like the show actually. but i don't understand why it has to be one thing that makes it the way it is. if i have to say it, definitely anti-war. because war sucks no matter what... and also the whole premise of the series. does capitalism create or condone war? maybe. do other models and way of life create or condone war? maybe but not really according to some people.

Similar to Deus Ex, Fallout poses a vast number of questions.

Many of the attitudes and information from the series were already present in in-game lore. Some of it's exaggerated by the producers' bias for sure though.

Fallout universe posits many different causes for war, and usually avoids singling anything out as more central than any other. The main causes that I see noted in the series are:

  • Capitalism
  • Factionalism
  • Lust for Power
  • "Outsider" mentality
  • Unreasonable fear
  • Just plain stupidity

There’s an entire section of the story that takes place in the town of Seastone, which is basically one, giant parody of modern day politics.

You have:
  • A goat merchant that sneaks product past the town guard to avoid paying taxes
  • A town guard that is willing to accept bribes to “look the other way”
  • A councilwoman that engaging in fraudulent election rigging
  • A fox journalist that’s paid off by the councilwoman to report on fake news
  • A group of “protesters” whom construct a barricade in the lower town and protest against the upper town, aka the rich and powerful members of society, and use the symbol of a black fist on posters that you hang up on the notice board in the upper town.
It is hilariously accurate, especially it came out in 2015, and some would probably think it was far ahead of its time. I myself watched a playthrough of the game back around the time when it released, but I was like 19, so all of it flew right over my head back then.
I'm surprised nobody brought up Cruelty Squad

Oooh yes, good call! Weyland-Yutani is a great example of runaway capitalism and the consequences of greed.

This sounds incredible, thank you.
Horizon Zero Dawn & Horizon Forbidden West
Other than Fallout and pretty much everything in the cyberpunk genre, there's Disco Elysium. Unlike most, its criticism of capitalism go a bit further than "rich people do bad things, poor people suffer", though it's not uncritical of communism either.

Keep in mind that it's more a visual novel than a game (and a LONG one at that), but the writing is impeccable.

And yet another unfortunate victim of capitalist scumbagging, as the original team's whole IP was stolen by the publisher, who fired all the creative personnel once they finished it :steamsad:

Just can't escape it in the modern toxic game climate
