60 fps better than 100 fps
So I have a 100 hz monitor and tried both, I prefer 60 fps, don’t like the 100 fps, am I wrong or someone others prefer 60 fps?
I talk about age of empires 3 (rts) and grid 2 (racing).
No improvements in DOOM 2016 (fps).

You might be doing something wrong or else those games have weird engines affected by frame rate maybe.

Most movies are viewed at 27 frames per second.

Personally, I think 60 fps at 1080p is still really good... but I mean if you have lots of money and you want the big toys, then 360 FPS that will support next or current gen monitors is the way to go.

You can still play competitive at 60 fps... some people will tell you can't, don't listen to them.

I believe 60fps is more than enough, though you could be supplying your 100htz monitor with the correct amount of 100fps to avoid tearing and things.

Actually at lower frame rates for first person shooters i find it easier to aim.

Heck even a strategy, i mean a tiny bit more time to think.

A bullet is 1100 FPS

Your eyes don't see a bullet

But the shutter opens twice per frame so it's effectively double that (according to our dumb brain).

You saying 60 FPS was all a lie and we should embrace our new 54 FPS master

The more the better, just as long as it doesn't fluctuate too much, an fps drop can be really annoying to play with.
It's more noticeable at lower fps though, so 30fps dropping to 15 is much worse than 100 to 80 or something.

1440p and 4k are really easy on the eyes but 1080p is by no means ugly. 60FPS is fine too. Hell, I think 30FPS is fine TBH.

People calling anything under 4k and 300FPS unplayable have opinions unworthy of the air they're expressed on.

A flash of bright light in a pitch black room is 1000000 FPS. You see it.

This is where stupidity enters. The monitor itself is running at 100FPS

The game seem to run slower as it is more accurate at recording each frame.

This is actually used to your advantage as the game seem to run slower.

The light doesn’t travel in FPS

Movie theaters are a special place. The environment and projection light levels are as they are because motion film relies on the effects of afterimage on your retina to appear fluid. If the shutter opened once per frame, you would clearly see the stutter.

The TV screen is different, and instead of afterimage must rely on a faster frame rate and/or interpolation (1080i vs 1080p). Progressive image motion (1080p) requires an even faster frame rate to appear fluid.

Now, I'm an old man, so I'm talking about film film, here. I don't know squat about these new digital projectors.

Neither does a bullet.
