Don't really like state of decay 2 due to how repititive it is. Just go around destroy the same enemies again and again with little story.
But best game that feature zombies for me is the last of us 1.

Despite being a benchmark, it's also from 2014, so it shouldn't be too terribly demanding on more recent computers.
Ever since RE4 ditched the 3rd person fixed camera and added the dynamic loot system that ensured there's always ammo available unless you have a REALLY bad aim, some players have been complaining that it was too action-y instead of proper horror where you have to run away half the time.
RE6 cranked the action movie explosions and hijinks up to 11, such that Michael Bay himself would think it's getting silly.
That said, I'm eagerly awaiting the original 1-3 remasters that Gog is working on, and hope the rumored return of Code Veronica is coming. That's the only main game in the series that's not on PC.
I'm looking forward to playing Project Zomboid.
