Very chill jobs

You know, those type of jobs where you barely have anything to do for 7/8 h (or less )

Do you hate these jobs? 🤔

From my little experience on it, I honestly cannot complain about them 🤷‍♀️

Luckly phones exist to do something, I cannot imagine if I had to do the same job without a smartphone, but I rly have to make sure that phone has 100% battery now before going to work (and I rly mean it... Before going to sleep I check if that cable is connected 20 times v:)

use some of the downtime to make some things that will help your job, such as making lists or similar (and maintaining such) as needed.

also, you can possibly get completely personal things done in that time as well.
i heard of an author who worked night shift at a hotel reception early in his career (before he really had one), and when there was nothing to do he would work on his books.

i did something similar once in a temp thing, difference being what of my own volition greatly improved my skills in certain areas (practice, if you will), but the end product of what i did also benefited the workplace in question, so a win-win in that case.
i care not going into detail. lets just say there are many things that you can do, regardless of context, rather than figuratively twiddling your thumbs.

so in any case, imo there is always stuff to do, personal or otherwise, so using the time meaningfully is no issue.

I would get really bored. I won't unless it's a government job where I'll stay for 6 months or a year to get the privilege that the next time I want to apply for a job I can just be hired without contest regardless of the position and build some social connections. The payment of a such type jobs is a little bit higher than in private sector, but you have some financial limits.
Well, you can still do something else, but it's not a job for me.

The most chill jobs I've had were in the public library system. We weren't allowed to use our phones while on shift, except for during breaks and lunch, but then again this was 15-20 years ago so they weren't as good as they are now.

I got paid to read manga. That's as chill as you can get.

Writing code can be very chill, stimulating, gratifying, and pays well.

There is ample room for doing good with code. Digital technologies don't have to be the dystopical garbage by Big Tech.

I try to avoid the headphones as much as I can, there is not a lot of noise in the background so is not like they are needed 🤷‍♀️

As long as browsing the phone does not affect your duties or place you under danger - i.e. distraction around machinery - then it should be ok to surf the phone in moderation.
