Vampires you can make a business arrangement with.
But you seen that film Freaks of Nature?
That will give people an informed decision for such a question as this.
MOsquitoes cause the most deaths worldwide every year, by a large margin. I think Vampires would be spreading hell of a lot more disease than zombies. Everyone would end up dying of aids unless they completely isolate themselves from all foreign human/vampire contact.
Mosquitoes bite the living zombies and Vampires are not living at least the most common type does not bit the dead.
Because the type of zombies make all the difference.
Zombies... A single flamethrower and will burn them to ashes.
I was comparing vampires to mosquitoes, whilst they wouldnt get sick themselves (being undead), they're bound to transmit every disease under the sun to people. Still it would be in their interest to keep humans alive, if nothing else.
This raises the interesting question, what happens to blood when the Vampire drinks it?
does the Vampires own system of being clean it or is it a hotbed of various diseases.
True Blood states they can be weakened by was it hepatitis?
but otherwise they are fine.
There could be a very clinical way of donating blood and receiving financial / economic reward.
With the usual crazy black market type stuff going on with the vampires and humans who go 'natural' over the regulated deals.
I don't think they would get sick, as much as transmitting disease (through traces in their teeth, mouths, system, when feeding from person to person--just like mosquitoes and other parasites.
Vampires would sooner enslave everyone than opting for honest commerce, especially in a post apocalyptic scenario where the law of the land is survival of the fittest.
They would breed the humans to be the fittest for the best blood, least i would if I was a vampire and make gladiator type games to keep the proles occupied while improving my blood stock.
And, who knows..
Perhaps, we mighta even have some hobbies in common.
