Reddit is toxic and cringe.
On Steam OT we are just silly lil gamer goofballs.

depends on the subreddit.

Reddit.
At least Steam Forums don't fill my entire web search every time I search something. Steam is very self-contained.

Adding onto that: Reddit has done MUCH MUCH MUCH more damage to the internet as a whole than Steam has.

They are both bad but reddit is worse.

Cat subreddits don't have people going on about politics every 5 seconds

That's because they'd be perma-banned instantly from multiple sub reddits for doing so.

I still don't understand how reddit works so that's probably a good thing.

Reddit because of the skinnerbox for conformity up voting system.

I consider both complete trash to be honest. Like, its for logging in, having a bit of entertainment, but you will not have an intellectual or interesting discussion on here, unless its in a game's forum directly and even there, stuff escalates.

You can't expect to have any " non-toxic " experience in forums that are mostly dominated by kids and man-children, who have never heard the " no " word by their parents and feel anonymous and invincible when they go online.

Its basically the same as if you give the dude in school class, back in the days, an invisibility cloak and a permanent free pass, he would also make education impossible by interrupting all the lessons, without any effectie consequence.

Its the same on reddit and steam, basically all threads and discussions will get " bombed " by trolls making the whole experience unpleasant, frustrating and in the worst case get you banned for responding " rude " or what not.

Not worth it. BOTH suck big time. In fact, now thinking about it, I can't think of ANY busy well visited forum, which is NOT toxic. They all are and its never a nice experience.

reddit due to upvote system. but it depends on what subs you are in. in some famous fanbase both can be very cancer.

ironically, the call of duty subreddits are way better than any major subreddit
