Hello.

Are You expecting the people to watch a 7 minute video to find that particular scene? What about telling the time?

Sounds like it´s either made with certain cymbals of a drum kit - or most likely, by simply throwing a metal piece on the ground, like a pot lid - or such a thing of a drum kit...

I mean it´s sounds rather natural - i don´t think it´s some artificial sound effect.

But it´s just a guess - even more so, when i see: 1981...

Metal rod hitting ground

Probably stock sfx crew tape splice sound from the studio, anvil or pipe combined with whatever. There were only a couple instruments that could make that kind of sound from a single source and were unobtainable for most circumstances, NED Synclavier and CMI Fairlight.
Sounds like a metal pipe being dropped on the ground.

Since Heavy Metal was released in 1981 can anyone check the sound effect librarys around that time

Whatever the production studio that put out the film. Go check Synclavier, Fairlight factory sounds just in case. E-mu Emulator 1 and PPG Wave probably came out a litttle late for it but go wild.

Whichever is listed in the credits for sfx, sound etc. Call them if still around and ask for the oldest person that still works there.

You could sample it yourself if you really want the exact sound.
