NexusMods: Censorship and Hypocresy
ive always found it really hypocritical the way nexus handles some mods, they allow countless mods related to the soviets, even complete overhauls of games, while completely banning (most) nazi imagery. I want to be clear im not a nazi, i don’t support communism and im not a racist, but both of these regimes were responsible genocides and the deaths of millions.

Its just unfair that they allow mods related to one genocidal group and not the other. If they’re going to permit that kind of content, they should either allow both or ban both.

and then theres the “woke” issue i dont like using this term, but it fits here. nexus has a ton of mods, including some that are pornographic and LGBT themed, yet they restrict the removal of LGBTQ imagery from certain games. that’s incredibly retarded, yeah, it might seem stupid to get worked up over a flag, but it’s your game you should have the right to modify it however you want, (as long as its legal).

If you don’t like a particular mod or flag, just avoid it dont start mass reporting or deleting ♥♥♥♥ because you think its le woke or le homophobic, everyone should have the freedom to enjoy their games the way they want, allowing one group to have these mods but not the other is retarded.

i believe in freedom of speech, ♥♥♥♥ you nexus

It's funny that I hear this until it gets to something like Twitter.

Then it's calls for removing it or shutting it down.
Twitter is one the most heavy censorship platform. Elon complying with more requests specifically from government offices than any other platform. Which this is actually a free speech issue once this is being done solely on behalf of the government asking for it to be removed.

I don't give an "eff" if there are users doing cancel culture or whatever. If actual governments are getting on there and censoring (or even executing people in Saudia Arabia's case), then this has become an actual authoritarian censorship issue and not just a "first world problem".
thats funny. Ive never been censored on twitter, yet you can be banned from these forums for saying the word "fart". I think you need to look up the definition of the word censorship

Here's a neat fact.

They did it before Musk as well.

Terms of service aren't censorship. You make the agreement before hand, and if you violate it you're banned. So you being banned for breaking a ToS isn't censorship. Twitter user 5274 being banned specifically because Erodgan requested it is censorship. Twitter user 8624 saying something negative about the Saudi prince, then twitter specifically giving his credentials and location so he can promptly be executed is extra censorship. And something that has happened to some twitter users (except they didn't even say anything negative, they just liked a tweet that was negative about the prince).

The rate went up once ownership changed. To around 100% of requests being met partial or in full. Hence why it is "one of the most heavy censorship platforms" out there on the internet. Also, not sure what Twitter's kill count was before Musk took over. But it's kill count is definitely went up after Musk bought it. So not really sure they're comparable.

So I'm assuming there's a verified document or story that makes the claim of more requests being adhered to?

Hey like you said, the twitter users made an agreement before hand. So no violating twitters TOS isnt censorship, funny how that works

My bad, could you please point to the part of the Twitter ToS where it reads "do not offend Erdogan or the Saudi prince with your tweets or likes".

Erodgan wasn't just getting people of his country banned or suppressed from what I remember. If that's what you were insinuating?

It's weird that the article leaves out partial compliance before Musk but includes it after Musk had taken over. It is also interesting that Twitter reviewed more requests in 6 months than the previous 12 combined.

Judging Twitter's history with blacking out their site at government request near election times, I'm sure that 50% compliance would've been much higher if the amount of requests were equal.

It's showing partial compliance on the raw spreadsheet data for 2021 when you look at the lumen database. Chances are they just grouped partial and full together for pre-Elon Twitter because the number was just that much smaller in retrospective to Elon's numbers.

The issue of course is you need to sort through all the non-government requests if you're looking at the data. I checked a few rejected requests myself from Elon's years of running twitter. They all came up as private entities and weren't government requests. So it suggests the spreadsheet data isn't sorted by government and non-government at all.

dont like the rules? go to a different platform ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They arent obligated to allow you to commit illegal acts on their website
What illegal acts? In fact, I can think of one such example where they explicitly banned an American because the Trump administration asked them too, for publishing something that was totally legal and allowed. Ken Klippenstein.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWGX1uf4fa0

Musk literally cited a rule for banning him that he himself got rid of when he took over the platform. Musk got rid of the rule so the Biden dossier was allowed to publish on twitter again.

If criticising the government is illegal in your country, then why would you think you should be free to do it on twitter? 🤔🤔🤔
Anyways, dont like the rules the. dont sign the agreement for the platform
Ken Klippenstein is American. He said that while living in America. You guys have Freedom of Speech last I checked? Or are you saying America doesn't have Freedom of Speech?

Erdogan was getting people banned saying negative things about his government even if they didn't live in Turkey as well. So what you're saying makes no sense.

No the US doesnt have freedom of speech, only silly people online believe that. The US has teh 1st amendment which prevents the US government from censoring you if they feel like obiding by it.
Yeah, it's specifically about the US government not censoring you. So how was that a good excuse to saying people like Ken Klippenstein were doing illegal stuff on twitter and deserved the ban? It's provably not illegal in his country where he said it.
