Mind boggling how the industry destroyed the best Plasma TVs for greed
The Koreans LG and Samsung created the best quality Plasma TVs to this day and then phased them out in favor of poor quality like LED. For greed to sell new products by all means. Nowadays plasma TV's virtually don't exist.

Similar things can be said for nowadays cars which are very poor quality

they heavy,
cant do 4k or anything above full hd actually.
they thick
they reflect light badly in daylight or bright room
high power usage

I still keeping mine. Not buying the new trash until completely broken and unable to use. The difference of quality with modern so big. Folks don't have idea because they probably didn't have plasma ever and don't know the difference

True but reason is that they were phased out for greed. If they continued developing plasmas certainly would have reached 4K

Weren't older plasma TVs more susceptible to burn in/image ghosting?

Yes. That was their main issue. But the Koreans decided not to improve the technology and simply abandon in favor of ugly quality led.

not entirely true. consumers also mass chosen to just not buy plasma cause they already have a mirror in the bathroom.

LED has its advantage. For example good to watch sports in the living room because high brightness. But in the bedroom on dark or dim lights when watch movie or play game the plasma image quality still beats far margin even most expensive LED of today

being picky about display technology is cringe, what you should really care about is whether people will spend money for dolby vision encoded media or throwing wasteful money into HDR10+ budget builds
