How to love gaming again?
Soon to be 29, recently got RTX 3060 12GB, 32gb ddr4, Ryzen 5600x. Also got a PS4 with bunch of games (physical copies). Yet, here I am, with a configuration I always wanted to have, a console I always wanted to have, bunch of games, yet no desire to play, because whenever I think about it, I just feel like it leads nowhere, like it serves no purpose. Been gaming since I was only 11, what if I am indeed too old for gaming considering for how long I've been playing games? I started feeling this way around 2017, played games just for sake of it, without enjoyment or excitement... Have to mention that I do suffer Anxiety and Depression sadly for many years, but still, when I think for example about finding a girlfriend or getting my 1st car or renovating a house or something, it always seems exciting to me, like a good idea, so what is going on here? Is it perhaps that I matured and figured that before I start gaming again I have to fix my life? Is it the fact that I am about a year from 30s? Perhaps just wanna hang out, find the love of my life, work on myself in every possible way... Maybe balance out things? I am just so afraid that I will never feel that enjoyment, satisfaction that comes from gaming, even forgot how it feels... Thank you for taking your time to read this, btw, I am usually not a type of person to ask for someones opinion, which means I am really lost on this one... :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

As we don't yet know the true purpose of life, the next best purpose of it is to enjoy what time we got. The purpose of games is to enjoy that time.

Understandable and wisely said, but perhaps my purpose shifted into the other direction? Considering that everyone finds purpose in something else...
Time to move on, it's over.
Dont overthink about it much, Find one that piques your interest. Enjoy it.
Maybe try going for games for their gameplay instead of being a nice pictureshow.
Maybe you already screwed your expectations so much that there is no going back to less graphically focused games.
You can't make yourself love gaming again. What you can is to ask yourself what gaming means to you and what it brings you. To most people, it's simply... fun. If it genuinely doesn't bring you joy, maybe it's time to let go. But ultimately, the answer is yours to find.
I play video games because it’s something I enjoy. There is no end goal. I just wanna have fun. Same with watching anime, traveling, and vibing to music.

Do what you wanna do at the moment and never force it. If you do that once you get back into it, it will feel fun again.
It's not odd when someone gets older that their interests, preferences, priorities and the like change. That's normal. Some people stop gaming, others start doing it more.

There is no "one answer" to this. Well, other than doing things you enjoy. And if you don't enjoy gaming much, do other things you enjoy.
Play stuff from like 2008 and prior. Some of the most fun I've ever had on having was recent, and it was playing the PS2 versions of MGS 2 and 3 on their hardest difficulties. Also played final fantasy 5 for the first time, amazing game. And discovered the older Metroid stuff. Let's the AAA companies around now die off, they have become excessively geriatric.
Find fun personal game
you have obligations on your mind to fulfill, happiness is elusive when the mind is always spinning. Pick your poison, to perpetuate and prolong your aimless sense of adventure/gaming or to find peace and serenity
If you are looking to just shut your brain off and enjoy yourself all the vampire survivor style games are just great for shutting off the brain zoomin around enjoying colors and numbers.

Those types of games are surprisingly soothing and addictive.

If you don't like vamp survivors it might be over!

Exactly. These questions are always so bizarre to me. Change is a natural part of life. It shouldn't be scary.
