(of course, there was one guy a couple streets over who started putting up his giant skeletons the last week of Sept. And the grocery stores had candy displays in mid-Sept.)
Honestly, I side-eye anyone putting their Christmas stuff up before Thanksgiving.
xmas = midwinterfest
xmastree = altar for wodan.. with the decorations representing the food placed in them as offering to this pagan god.
and we have no santaclaus in netherlands he does not belomg to our version of christmas. but he points back to nimrod depicted as a man with a long white beard and a pinetree in hand.. wodan, odin etc are all derriced from that first idol we must cast down.
and even before I was a christian in my nation we celebrate sinterklaas at 5 december. thats when you get gifts christmas should even for non believer stay far away from getting and buying crap.
and no christmas decorations allowed here before 6 december until than it is sinterklaasdecorations.
ofcourse being christian i no longer celebrate sinterklaas either but still at least it belongs to my nations cultural herritage santaclaus halloween and that foreign crap needs to stay out double as much.
There are no decorated Christmas trees on the streets yet, but I am sure they will appear soon.

Personally, I like it. The feeling of a holiday gives optimism and life becomes more fun.
Yeah I agree on that
and we have 2 months after with full november and december
because it going to be weird to mix halloween and christmas decoration
Don't you mean, "now largely consumer affair"? Capitalism/materialism took it over ages ago.
So you put up a Winter Solstice/Yule tree! :D
