GTA 6 will run at 30fps on PS5 Pro
It appears that Zen 2 CPU choice for PS5 Pro has hobbled the capabilities for this machine to run GTA 6 at 30fps.

Is this a deal breaker, or would you be fine with it?

unplayable if below 144, don't ever expect anything good from modern games lol, even when i will throw this crappy 4090 out of the window for a 5090, i still won't meet my standards because developers are lazy and use bad engines

I think 120 fps would be an acceptable standard, but no less, admittedly that's a low bar for this generation so I'm being generous to Sony here.

I'm still on 1080ti so would rather get 50xx series card upgrade than PS5 Pro, it seems like the most incremental of upgrades since it's the same CPU as original PS5.

I saw the side by side Final Fantasy footage and can barely tell the difference. All the games that come out on PS5 are on Steam anyway, I'd rather wait for PC version than play inferior PlayStation version at launch.

it is smooth ish but not as smooth as i want it to be, i switched from a 7900XTX to a 4090 for the extra 30 fps on average because my monitor is 180hz but i have set it to 165 and i would very much prefer to have at least over 200 as i do not like having the max possible FPS anywhere near my refresh rate, very high standards i know, i avoid all new games especially those with unreal engine and unity as they run like garbage
PS5 Pro is a waste of money. Just get a PC.

PS5 isn't going to run anything that isn't a 2d indie game at 4k60. You get "up to" 4k60 with dynamic resolution which usually hovers around 900p unless you point the camera straight up into the sky, or use DLSS which also isn't 4K but usually 1080p or lower with anti aliasing.

Are console gamers really this easy to dupe with basic marketing?

The deal breaker for me started at them being Rockstar

It's gonna suck having to wait another two years for the PC port while every console peasant enjoys the most anticipated game of all time.

I hope Valve drops a new game right around the time GTA 6 comes out, just to rain all over Rockstar's parade.

Don´t you mean Take-Two Interactive´s parade?

True. I think the only thing going for it is the convenience factor, and if that was the reason then standard PS5 with disk drive would be a better choice compared overpriced disk-less pro.

I don't know if Sony successfully marketed the Pro this time around. The only thing which turned public sentiment after pro announcement and price point was 30th anniversary consoles and accessories, but that was more of an event for scalpers to gobble up stock than genuine players.

If there's any micro transactions in it and they completely ignore singleplayer dlc then I am literally not going to buy or play it.

It looks more realistic. Oh boy. You can do dumb TikTok things in your phone in game or something. You might be able to go into more buildings with things actually in them.

Gta had plenty of opportunity to win me over. After 5, I don't see any new innovation. I expected a big leap from 3 to 5, but there wasn't much of one.

Gta5 made me sick of rockstar. Hey check it out we released more cars for gta online! You just need to buy them. Here are shark cards! Casino! Poker, gambling, woo hoo. Also red dead online also made me upset at them.

I'd rather play a new Mafia game.

No, because I don't have PS5
Also, they probably will add frame generation for 60FPS.

And the processor is a Zen 2 Renoire, not a Zen 2 Matisse.
Where is the difference? It's in the cache. Just look at Ryzen 5 3600 vs Ryzen 5 4500.

Frame generation or interpolation is a neat trick but can produce wierd visual effects like wheels spinning backwards and other undesirable motion related effects.

The other thing is it might look smoother but it won't feel as fast as genuine 60fps.

Call me nuts, but maybe this is Sony management's way of silently killing the Playstation console altogether. Hardware they've been selling at a loss for years, that compares poorly to PC rigs.

First they started the PS store for PC. Then they dumped their games on PC, getting fans used to a new ecosystem. They buy up studios like Bungie to get into the software side of the business, and then offer their hardware at insanely high prices just after they introduced a handheld version.

In ten years when the PS 6 is dead, they'll shrug and point to low sales figures for why it was discontinued in their official press release.

I guess two wrongs still don't make a right.
