I am optimistic, there are plenty of non political focus here, so if people actually do want to debate the good parts here or simply weight in what they feel, that is great.
Maybe we might even hear from people that live in Ohio. That would be awesome.

Just seems like a good way to waste money and blow out the American dollar even more.
Freedom gives you opportunities, restrictions take life away from you.

That is my personal take on it all. But some people don´t see it that way and are scared, if "luring" them are a good incentitive, I don´t know, thus the reason I wanted the debate.
Yes it is because so few people get vaccinated in Ohio, so instead of wasting money on other incentitives, they want "lottery" instead.
2. I´m personally not a fond of "here we give You the chance to get rich fast and easy." and then say something about free will or choice. (it´s ofc debatable if it´s "worth it" in this case, but imho some "we just give You money to change You opinion" isn´t the best approach if it should be about reasons - and personal preferences.)
Indeed chances are so very low, so if that is all that takes to get people to go there, why not just go there in the first place. I actually think that winning that lottery, might be greater, than actually dying or getting (seriously) ill from the vaccine..
It just makes little sense to me, as to why it can be an "incentitive" maybe I just don´t understand, becuase I have a different cultural standpoint.
Anyway.. hopefully more gets vaccines, no matter the way they do it.
So it is not an uncommon practice in the US. That makes sense then.
Can you give other examples? where lottery is used?
