Cartoon Network's worst mistake, or greatest decision?
For those who don't know, before Adult Swin existed, Toonami was Cartoon Network's late night cartoons. Most of them were animes, like One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, and Bobobo (the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome show where the main character fights crime with his mutant nosehairs!). I loved watching this Cartoon Network segment, although I rarely would be able to watch all of the good shows because my bed time was at 9, and it started at 7 or 8. I'm not sure what happened to it, but I can pretty safely assume that it was replaced by Adult Swim so that Cartoon Network would get more funding by sharing their channel with another company. So to repeat the title of this thread, do you think that this was a good or bad decision? Adult Swim has alot of good content, but it also killed Toonami (unless Cartoon Network has a secret channel devoted to Toonami, sorta like their Boomerang channel)...

Their worst mistake was canceling best shows and replacing them with the worst garbage in life.

I think you have your facts a bit mixed up. Adult Swim was around long before they decided to cancel Toonami. Pretty sure it was around back when Toonami was still a week day thing before it became Saturday night only.

Also, Toonami's been back for 2 years now. Adult Swim actually brought it back, every Saturday night starting at 11:30.

That said, I do feel it was a mistake, especially considering all the stuff that followed that desicion.

Heck even adult swim used to better. Somewhere down the line someone on William Street smoked far too much pot and aproved 4 years of crap content. A few gems durring that period... Venture Brothers, Aqua teen Hunger force (well for a few years there), and the Boondocks.

It's pulled itself out of the hole a little. The return of Toonami to Sat night. A lot of the worst content made for adult swim ran it's course and died.

The thing is though far too many of the better anime licences lasped. Devilman Wonderland has had issues with the manga behind it colasping, so a short series. Fullmetal Alchemist smallowed itself whole. Sure you can watch Big O twice through but after that... Most of the problems relate to the changes in the anime market. Blame the freaking recession and the 00 anime implosion largely due to it. Fact is anime has gotten so subgenred it's difficult to pick up a broad range of anime licenses cheeply for a network.

Better anime fixes are out there
Check Hulu, Crunchyroll, anime network, you might even get Funimation direct from your cable company as a premium channel, and if you really want One Piece. Get a online Shonen Jump subscript. EVERY single One Piece episode ever made including the new weekly ones straight out of Japan day of their Japanese airing.

What you want is out there... happy hunting!:Deer:

An easy way to find out what the name of the show is is to either
A. Google the most memorable moment
or
B. Make a forum post about it asking what it was

I'll do the B option. Google didn't help.
But thanks for pointing me in a direction I should have done before. XD

They replaced some of the best anime ever made with the most amateurish garbage I've ever seen.

I can't believe anyone watches that crap.
