The agonizing frustration and anger and need for retribution I would feel would be overwhelming.
I want to say "I can't believe they did this to these people" but unfortunately I can believe it.
Then they came for the squirrels, and I said nothing because I did not have a squirrel.
Then they came for the cats, and I said nothing because I did not have a cat.
Then they came for the dogs, and I said nothing because I did not have a dog.
Then they started coming for people, and there were no animals left to alert them.
All mammals can carry rabies. Your dog/cat can. You can. So "he COULD carry rabies" isn't really a valid argument. It's an excuse. And you don't need to kill an animal and test for rabies if you're bitten. Even if an animal had it, which it didn't, you can take the rabies vaccine, which is the treatment for rabies if you are bit, and be fine, whether or not the animal had it.
