Err what point?
I simply joined the thread at the point where people were suggesting ways to remove ones self from reality - and I suggested reading a book. Done. That is it.
You seem to be overthinking something here dude :-)
How dare you!
I would say I just don't care about achievements, but a true masterpiece remains replayable for all time, and it's disrespectful to the art form to say there's no reason to replay just because you did all the developer-assigned busywork.
There's always more to discover. I thought I knew SMW inside and out, but there's still tricks I didn't know.

Also, there's no achievement for getting to Soda Lake with just the cape instead of cravenly sacrificing Yoshi, but it separates the men from the boys, and that's satisfaction and reward enough.
Or making it all the way through Tubular with just the cape instead of Yoshi or the balloon.
Eight years ago I could probably play eight csgo matches in a row.
Now? Two? One if it's via faceit
Imma be using turn based games in my older years (if I get lucky), to recover from the trauma I willingly put myself through with cs
Or maybe it's due to a disequilibrium. I've always played video games in my life, but always in a balanced way, because it's above all a pastime to relax, playing a video game is like reading a book or seeing a film in my eyes, a moment of relaxation that is enjoyed while remaining secondary.
I play a lot of my old games and spend much less time looking at new ones. The difference between a child and an adult is that a child has no responsibilities, bills, rent, family, taxes, ... It's normal not to be able to enjoy a video game if you're stressed by this kind of problem.
And you zoomed in...
Rather it's when you get older, you might have slower reaction times for those fast pace games.
Mostly however it comes down to you not upgrading your now potato PC and not getting the latest quality games to play...
"I should of grind to Diamond Rank when I still had the mechanics."
Where did you get the average age of a gamer? I remember that one scene from Simpsons where Bart says you should get help if you're over 14 and still play video games lol.
