Inflation.

It was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing, the quality of the experience doesn't diminish just because new games have been made, get over yourself and buy it if you haven't played it.

Because of all the effort RockStar had to go to to add their launcher into the game.

Yeah I probably shouldn't encourage sales when that's specifically the reason I don't need to re-experience RDR1.

I never played the first one and I'm not that fussed about playing it now. It might be $50 but it ain't worth $50 of my money.

I will maybe get it on PC someday.

It is a very good game. I think better than the 2nd.(3rd I guess if you count Revolver)

ps 3 ~$100
red dead ps3 ~ $8-12.

12+100 = 112

112 x 0.33 = 36.96

33% profit, remove systen cost.

36.96 x 1.2 = 44.35

adjusted for inflation (physical media are inflation sinks)

44.35/50 = 0.89 = 11%

steam cut; major studio lowers it from 30% to 15%. easy 3-20m++ sales. 5%. 50/60 split, since they're breaking an embargo (their own hardware lock) and all. 2%.

as you may oberve this translates to a 10% price difference, despite only taking up 2%.

the 2 % figure is correct for steam's cut; the 'investment seed' of the product is treated as a stock exchange, and since R* is a big bloke it gets an extra 33% off, taking it from 3% standard profit for the mutual fund (valve) to 2%.

the consumer absorbs the cost difference, netting the publisher an extra 11% profit for its perceived market position. three entire companies worth of stock profit.

Severe greed, by one of the greediest companies around. Nothing new.

Corpo being corpo, business as usual. If you really want to play that game wait for a decent sale.

the sound was broken for many systems a month after launch, despite working fine before (besides setting the system volume to 11%.)

I bet you're capable of providing a well thought out reason as to why, so why even make the comment?

You see when we "accepted" 70€ of a new game they allso raised the price of a remastered.
